Dubai World Dental Meeting – DWDM 2025 Kicks Off: A Global Platform for the Latest Developments in Dentistry

Specialized Scientific Sessions on the Latest Orthodontic Techniques, Pediatric Dentistry, and Oral Health

The Dubai World Dental Meeting (DWDM) kicks off today, running for three days at the Dubai World Trade Centre and Novotel Dubai. It stands as one of the most prominent global events in dentistry, serving as a key meeting for dentists, technicians, and specialists striving to stay updated on the latest scientific advancements. It also acts as an ideal educational platform to enhance continuous learning. The meeting features a comprehensive scientific program comprising lectures and a diverse range of workshops that highlight the latest innovations and achievements in dentistry.

This year, DWDM gathers approximately 600 dentists, experts, technicians, and students from across the globe, offering them the opportunity to participate in 8 intensive courses and workshops delivered by 25 world-renowned experts in dentistry. This scientific event presents a unique opportunity to enhance continuous education, exchange expertise, and advance healthcare practices in the dental sector, which benefits both the medical community and patients alike. benefiting both the medical community and patients alike. More than 23 countries are taking part in this edition.

The agenda of this year’s meeting covers critical topics such as Aesthetic Dentistry, Orthodontics, Restorative Dentistry, Dental Conscious Sedation, Oral Implantology, and Pediatric Dentistry, in addition to workshops on modern therapeutic techniques and the utilization of advanced equipment to enhance the quality of oral healthcare.

Among the key sessions in the program is a session titled: “Shape Memory Direct Printed Aligners: A New Paradigm in Orthodontics,” presented by Prof. Dr. Ravindra Nanda from the USA. The session focuses on the importance of understanding the materials used in orthodontics and the biomechanics behind their application. A new material for orthodontic appliances will be introduced, featuring shape-memory properties, reduced force application, and enhanced adaptability to tooth surfaces. These appliances can be manufactured directly in the clinic using 3D printing technology, eliminating the reliance on traditional molds and plastics, which pose significant environmental hazards.

DWDM 2025 will also feature a specialized session on “Guided Biofilm Therapy,” presented by Dental Hygiénist Hanan Tahir from the UAE. This session will discuss the latest noninvasive therapeutic techniques that have become the gold standard in periodontal treatment. Thanks to the integration of the latest scientific advancements, this technique is highly effective in eliminating disease-causing bacteria while ensuring optimal patient comfort.

Additionally, the event will shed light on Osseodensification for dental implants, a pioneering technique that has revolutionized the field of implantology. This topic will be explored by Prof. Dr. Costa Nicolopoulos, BDS cum laude, FFD(SA)MFOS, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon in the UAE, and

Dr. Petros Yuvanoglu from Greece. This innovative approach relies on specialized drills that densify the bone rather than removing it, resulting in more stable implant sites and accelerated healing.

Commenting on this breakthrough, Prof. Costa Nicolopoulos stated: “Once again, DWDM 2025 will be at the forefront of dentistry, where we will be presenting a workshop on the revolutionary innovation of Osseodensification Implant Drilling Technology.”

All workshops are CME accredited by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties – SCFHS, the International Congress for Health Specialties – ICHS, and the American Dental Association Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP). These workshops help dental professionals enhance their skills, explore advanced treatment techniques tailored to patient needs, and achieve optimal clinical outcomes.

In addition, these scientific courses provide an exceptional platform for discussing the latest advancements in orthodontics and modern treatment methods. They include the presentation of cutting-edge scientific research and the exchange of expertise among industry leaders and specialists aiming to advance the global dental sector and ensure the delivery of high-quality medical services to patients.

As part of AEEDC Dubai 2025, DWDM runs alongside the 10th Minimally Invasive Orthognathic Surgery Conference, AEEDC Dubai World Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Conference, and AEEDC Dubai World Orthodontics Conference. All three conferences focus on the latest advancements in their respective fields and offer an intensive scientific program. These events provide participants with a unique opportunity to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of leading specialists in dentistry.

These specialized courses and workshops take place as part of the educational program of the UAE International Dental Conference & Arab Dental Exhibition – AEEDC Dubai 2025, the largest global event of its kind. AEEDC Dubai 2025 is expected to attract more than 66,000 visitors from the dental sector across 155 countries.

The 29th edition of AEEDC Dubai is organized by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions – a member of INDEX Holding, and will take place from February 4–6, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
