Dubai Derma 2025 Opens New Horizons for AI Technologies and Medical Simulation
The 24th edition of the Dubai World Dermatology and Laser Conference and Exhibition – Dubai Derma, the world’s largest scientific conference and exhibition in dermatology, aesthetics, and laser, concluded on a high note, with direct and indirect business deals surpassing AED 2.5 billion.
Over three impactful days, Dubai Derma further solidified the UAE’s position as a leading global hub for medical tourism. This achievement is backed by a world-class healthcare system, advanced infrastructure, a highly qualified medical workforce, and internationally accredited services. Competitive pricing and the ease of access to top-tier medical care continue to make the UAE a favored destination for patients from around the world.
The booming growth of the aesthetics and skincare industry, which is now rapidly expanding among both women and men, has significantly contributed to this upward trend. Increasing interest from international visitors has highlighted cosmetic procedures as a core component of the medical tourism landscape. With its exceptional standards of care and a holistic patient experience, the UAE continues to emerge as a premier destination for dermatological and aesthetic treatments.
The high volume of deals secured at this year’s edition reflects the rising global and regional importance of dermatology and aesthetic medicine, and highlights the ongoing momentum and investment in this fast-evolving sector. The conference once again reaffirmed Dubai’s status as a premier venue for leading medical events, offering a vibrant platform for scientific dialogue, innovation exchange, professional networking, and the unveiling of next-generation medical technologies.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) took center stage throughout the event, reinforcing its pivotal role in shaping the future of dermatology and aesthetics by accelerating innovation, improving diagnostic precision, and optimizing clinical outcomes.
His Excellency Amb. Dr. Abdulsalam AlMadani, Roving Ambassador of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) for the GCC Region and Chairman of Dubai Derma, stated:
“This rapidly growing sector is among the most advanced globally, with the cosmetic surgery market surpassing USD 56 billion last year. Fueled by continuous medical and technological advancements and heightened awareness of skincare and aesthetic wellness, the sector is on a path of sustained growth. The diversity and quality of services available in the UAE are key contributors to this sector’s impact on medical tourism and the broader national economy.”
He added: “Each year, we are committed to presenting cutting-edge scientific content that reflects the latest developments in the field. This year’s integration of AI technologies and medical simulation into the conference program highlights our dedication to equipping physicians and students with the most advanced tools and training methods available.”
In addition to clinical advancements, this year’s conference addressed several holistic aspects of dermatological care, notably emphasizing the psychological and social dimensions of treatment. These factors play a crucial role in enhancing therapeutic outcomes and improving patients’ quality of life.
A key highlight on the final day was the “Future of Dermatology” session, specially curated for students, interns, and dermatology residents. The session delved into future specialty trends, subspecialties, pediatric dermatology, dermatopathology, and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration. It also emphasized complementary therapies as a means to enhance patient care.
For the first time, the session featured a live demonstration of AI-powered medical simulation, allowing students and physicians to experience hands-on emergency case training in a virtual, realistic environment. This groundbreaking initiative represents a transformative leap in medical education—sharpening clinical decision-making and technical skills in high-stakes scenarios.
In another regional first, Dubai Derma hosted a collaborative session with the Skin of Color Society, dedicated to treatment approaches tailored to patients with skin of color. This pioneering initiative paves the way for future programs promoting inclusivity, education, and equitable care in dermatology.
Dubai Derma 2025 convened leading dermatologists, industry experts, and decision-makers from around the world. The event welcomed over 25,000 visitors from 114 countries. The exhibition floor showcased cutting-edge solutions across several national pavilions, with South Korea standing out by hosting the largest pavilion, highlighting its innovation in skincare and dermatological technologies.
