Siemens Healthineers Successfully Concludes Innovation Capacity Building Program in Saudi Arabia, Strengthening Healthcare Transformation and Talent Development

Siemens Healthineers has proudly concluded its prestigious Innovation Capacity Building Program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the nation’s healthcare transformation and Vision 2030 agenda. Conducted over an intensive eight-day period, the program gathered 30 carefully selected participants from leading hospitals, universities, and consulting firms across Saudi Arabia, providing a dynamic platform for cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovative problem-solving.
Organized under the leadership of *Professor Sultan Haider, Founder and Global Head of the *Innovation Think Tank (ITT) at Siemens Healthineers, the program was designed to accelerate the development of localized solutions for real-world healthcare challenges. Hosted at the Siemens Healthineers headquarters in Riyadh, the initiative focused on building institutional innovation capacity within the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving healthcare ecosystem.
Throughout the course of the program, participants were divided into five collaborative teams, each challenged to explore, conceptualize, and design innovative healthcare solutions tailored to the needs of the Saudi market. Leveraging the ITT methodology, the participants worked closely with Siemens Healthineers experts and mentors, engaging in knowledge-sharing sessions, case-based learning, systems thinking workshops, and prototype development exercises.
The program culminated in a Co-Creation and Outcome Exhibition Day, during which the participating teams presented their final projects to a distinguished panel of healthcare leaders from both the public and private sectors. These projects addressed critical healthcare themes, including early diagnostics, artificial intelligence in imaging, patient-centric care models, telehealth expansion, and digital transformation of hospital workflows.
In his remarks at the closing ceremony, Mr. Michel Atallah, Managing Director of Siemens Healthineers in Saudi Arabia, highlighted the broader significance of the initiative:
“We are incredibly proud of this milestone in advancing institutional innovation in Saudi Arabia. The Innovation Capacity Building Program is a testament to our long-standing commitment to enabling the Kingdom’s healthcare vision through knowledge exchange, local talent development, and impactful innovation. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with all stakeholders to build a resilient, future-ready healthcare system.”
Professor Sultan Haider emphasized the importance of nurturing a culture of creativity and co-creation within healthcare institutions:
“The program not only delivers technical innovation but builds human-centered innovation ecosystems. Our goal is to foster sustainable capabilities within Saudi institutions to generate impactful, long-term solutions that improve patient outcomes and system efficiencies.”
The Innovation Capacity Building Program supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Health Sector Transformation Program, both of which emphasize the importance of innovation, capacity building, and public-private collaboration in enhancing healthcare access and quality across the Kingdom.
