Burjeel Holdings to Operate and Manage ADNOC’s New Das Hospital in Strategic Healthcare Expansion

Burjeel Holdings, one of the leading private healthcare service providers in the MENA region, has been awarded a landmark contract by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to operate and manage the newly developed Das Hospital on Das Island. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in both organizations’ commitment to advancing accessible and high-quality healthcare in remote and industrial regions of the UAE.
The Das Hospital, a state-of-the-art medical facility, will serve as the primary health and emergency response center for ADNOC’s workforce and residents on Das Island. With the signing of this agreement, Burjeel Holdings strengthens its partnership with ADNOC, expanding upon its current management of the Al Dhannah Hospital in the Al Dhafra region. The partnership aims to deliver comprehensive clinical and administrative services while supporting ADNOC’s long-term “Energy for Wellbeing” strategy that places the health of its employees and communities at the forefront.
Dr. Ghuwaya Al Neyadi, Senior Vice President of Group Medical and Wellbeing at ADNOC, emphasized the importance of the collaboration: “Through this partnership with Burjeel Holdings, ADNOC’s state-of-the-art Das Hospital will provide access to top-tier healthcare and emergency services for our employees, reinforcing our commitment to health and safety. Our people are our most important asset, and we are committed to ensuring their wellbeing, wherever they are.”
The Das Hospital is designed to deliver a wide range of healthcare services including general surgery, internal medicine, family medicine, ENT, dental, ophthalmology, cardiac and pulmonary care. It will also provide emergency and trauma care, supported by a fully equipped emergency department, intensive care unit, decontamination unit, ambulance bays, and a medical helipad to facilitate air evacuation when required. The hospital’s diagnostic capabilities include X-ray, CT scan, and ultrasound services, along with pharmacy support, a blood bank, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation services.
Commenting on the agreement, John Sunil, Group CEO of Burjeel Holdings, stated: “We are proud to enhance our collaboration with ADNOC through the management of Das Hospital. This facility will not only provide essential services to workers on the island but will also be integrated into our larger healthcare network, ensuring seamless access to advanced and specialized care. This aligns with our vision of delivering world-class healthcare to even the most remote parts of the UAE.”
The new hospital replaces the former Das Medical Center and significantly elevates healthcare infrastructure on the island. The partnership will also facilitate teleconsultation services, vaccination drives, and preventive healthcare programs, further promoting long-term health within the community.
Founded in 2007 by Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Burjeel Holdings has grown to become one of the most trusted names in healthcare across the UAE and Gulf region. The company’s growing portfolio includes tertiary care, quaternary care, and super-specialty hospitals, with a strong emphasis on innovation, patient experience, and quality of care.
The operation and management of Das Hospital by Burjeel Holdings reflects ADNOC’s ongoing investment in comprehensive wellbeing solutions for its employees, reinforcing the role of public-private partnerships in shaping the future of healthcare delivery in the UAE.
